Squeaky clean: Mike McClean is to play Wishee Washee
Debut: Joseph Elliott
Debut: Richard David-Caine

Comedian Mike “Squeaky” McClean is to play Wishee Washee in Aladdin in Derby—the first panto to be staged at the city’s new Arena.

McClean returns for a fourth year. There was no panto in Derby in 2014 because of a fire at the city council’s venue the Assembly Rooms.

Said McClean, “I’m so excited to be back in Derby. I missed the city and the audiences last year. I’m hoping to see lots of familiar faces in the audience at this new arena.”

Meanwhile, two of TV’s favourite pirates will be making their pantomime debut together in Aladdin. Joseph Elliott and Richard David-Caine who are the double act Cook and Line in the CBeebies series Swashbuckle will play Ping and Pong at Derby Arena.

Aladdin, a Derby LIVE and Paul Holman Associates’ production, runs from Monday 7 December until Sunday 3 January 2016.
