The winning monologues of the Octagon Theatre Bolton’s first National Prize—Blue, Being Amazing and Nobody Can Never Get Us Back—will be performed by three actors, in tandem with the venue’s current run of Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads.

Selected from hundreds of submissions, these new monologues are poignant, moving, and hopeful in equal measure.

Returning after starring as the feisty Rita in Educating Rita, Jessica Baglow will be taking on the role of Amber in Charlotte Josephine’s Blue.

After his role of the young farmer Gilbert in The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Michael Peavoy returns to the Octagon to perform in Ian Townsend’s Being Amazing as Leon.

Tupele Dorgu, who played Kelly Crabtree in Coronation Street and recently starred as Lori Fletcher in BBC’s The Coroner, will be making her debut at the Octagon as Yolanda in Shauna Mackay's Nobody Can Never Get Us Back.
