A new conducting competition is to take place entirely online.
Open to musicians of any age or nationality, The Only Stage International Conducting Competition will be judged by a panel to include Andrea Amarante, artistic director at Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Zvonimir Hacko, conductor and artistic director at Oregon Music Festival, USA, and Michael Rosewell, director of opera at London's Royal College of Music.
The competition offers first and second financial prizes of £2,000 and £1,500 together with concert opportunities in the 2022/2023 season and a third prize of £1,000 with a masterclass with conductor Oleg Caetani.
The Only Stage International Conducting Competition is a collaboration between Only Stage Management Company and Classics Management Budapest. The deadline for applications is 31 March.
