National Youth Dance Company, run by Sadler’s Wells and now in its sixth year, has announced its line-up of 41 young dancers for this year, with 30 new members chosen through workshops held in 16 different cities throughout the UK.

The new company will work with 2017/18 Guest Artistic Director Sharon Eyal to create Used To Be Blonde, which will première at Sadler’s Wells on Saturday 7 April 2018 followed by a UK tour. The piece will be created and rehearsed during four intensive residencies over the year.

Eyal was born in Jerusalem and danced with Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 until 2008. She served as Associate Artistic Director of the company from 2003 to 2004 and House Choreographer from 2005 to 2012 before launching L-E-V in 2013 with her long-time collaborator Gai Behar.

As NYDC Guest Artistic Director, she follows Damien Jalet, Michael Keegan-Dolan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Akram Khan and Jasmin Vardimon.
