A new production of the musical Hairspray will go on a major UK tour in 2015, starting at Leicester’s Curve.
The theatre’s artistic director Paul Kerryson, who leaves the venue at the end of 2014, will direct. Choreography will be by Drew McOnie and musical direction by Ben Atkinson.
Hairspray will tour to 29 venues and will have a Christmas residency at the New Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham in December 2015.
The show, with music and lyrics by award-winning duo Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, will also go to Aylesbury, Northampton, Malvern, Liverpool, Hull, Manchester, Wimbledon, Bradford, Southampton, Ipswich, Brighton, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Oxford, Bristol, Woking, Cardiff, Norwich, Milton Keynes, Leeds, Plymouth, Stoke, Bromley, Canterbury and Southend.
