King Street Space in Wigan is a new rehearsal and workshop resource for the Greater Manchester independent theatre scene.

Funded by Rampant, it is primarily an opportunity for them to workshop new projects and experiment with alternative theatre. However, to make best use of the space, they are also planning to roll out a regular series of events and would also like to make it available to other independent theatre-makers locally if they are looking for a budget rehearsal space.

Events currently scheduled include improv nights, musical jam nights, share and create sessions and regular play readings and workshops. Full details will be available on their web site and circulated via the mailing list and social media accounts.

There are also Rampant events that are open to performers and collaborators, such as a table-read of Hamlet in preparation for a new production and a day workshop on the John Galsworthy play Strife which will experiment with alternative performance techniques and incorporate a new score.
