New London festival reclaims the clown

The inaugural London Clown Festival in June will try to cast off the common public perception of "red noses and oversized shoes" clowns to reference Chaplin, Keaton, Lecoq and Gaulier.

The new festival will present 34 shows of physical comedy and clown-influenced performance over 10 days at The Omnitorium at Manor House in London. including Spencer Jones in The Herbert in Eggy Bagel, Jamie Wood in O No! and Lucy Hopkins in Surprise Event.

The opening cabaret on 10 June, with free entry, will feature various acts from throughout the festival, hosted by The Balkan Bad-Boys Boris and Sergey.

The London Clown Festival will run at The Omnitorium from 10 to 19 June 2016.
