Green Rooms is a new hotel sited in north London offering affordable accommodation to artists visiting the city and, in providing spaces for work to be presented, it will also form part of the local arts scene.

The social enterprise hotel is located in a 1925 Art-Deco property previously used by the North Metropolitan Power and Electric Company. It houses a bar and exhibition space at ground floor level and will host performances and events in the communal areas.

A wide range of events will be open to the public and free to Haringey residents, whilst artists, so often priced out of London, needing accommodation will have a choice of room styles and pay from £18 per night.

The hotel's restaurant will run rent-free residencies for emerging restaurateurs.

Entrepreneur Nick Hartwright is behind Green Rooms which opens in May. He has worked with Hoxton Hotel entrepreneur Kurt Bredenbeck and funding for the project has been raised in collaboration with social and environmental impact investment firm ClearlySo.
