A new theatre opens its doors in May a short walk from iconic City landmarks of the likes of the Bank of England.
The Theatre Room is 55-seat chamber theatre at 6 Frederick’s Place, the home of new theatre company Frontier Theatre Productions.
James Roose-Evans, who founded London's Hampstead Theatre and the Bleddfa Centre for the Creative Spirit in Powys, is the company's artistic director.
Roose-Evans's many directorial credits include Private Lives, Under Milk Wood, An Ideal Husband and A Personal Affair.
Tapping into theatre experience, Frontier Theatre Productions aims to employ mature actors on stage and in workshops and masterclasses to benefit younger generations in the profession.
The company's inaugural production is to be The Lovers Of Viorne with a cast led by Charlotte Cornwell who has extensive credits on stage, television and film.
The Lovers Of Viorne is a drama by French novelist, playwright, scriptwriter and filmmaker Marguerite Duras, translated by Barbara Bray.
It from 3 to 21 May at The Theatre Room, 6 Frederick’s Place.
