Artists, collectives and companies are being invited to apply to become associate artist for 2019 at Newcastle-under-Lyme’s New Vic Theatre.
Artists based in north Staffordshire can apply for the theatre-in-the-round’s artistic development programme The Kiln. It offers a 12-month placement, with support tailored to the needs and ambitions of the successful candidate.
Clare Reynolds, co-artistic director of Restoke, the theatre’s first associate artists, said, “our time at the New Vic was a real gift. We benefited from all sorts of support including box office, sourcing set, marketing advice and studio time.
“The beauty of the New Vic is the warmth of the staff across all departments. Everyone knew who we were, welcomed us and offered their help and time with great generosity.”
Applications close on Tuesday 4 December. Artists should apply at the New Vic web site.
