New Vic to audition youngsters for Christmas production

New Vic summer schoolNewcastle-under-Lyme theatre-in-the-round the New Vic is looking for young performers to appear in its new production of A Christmas Carol.

New Vic artistic director Theresa Heskins is adapting the Christmas classic and the theatre is looking for boys and girls aged ten to 14 to take part in a summer school. Afterwards up to 24 youngsters will be offered parts in the production.

The summer school takes place from Tuesday, 28 August until Saturday, 1 September. It will give children the chance to shine in front of some of the industry’s top professionals.

Auditions will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 19 and 20 May. Hopefuls will be asked to tell a story of their choice (up to one minute), sing as part of a group and take part in movement-based activities.
