Further casting has been announced for the Mel Brooks's hit musical The Producers.

Award-winning surrealist comedian Ross Noble makes his musical theatre début when he joins the cast from May in the role of Franz Liebkind, the carrier pigeon keeping, former Nazi.

Cast until May is Louie Spence as Carmen Ghia, Roger De Bris’s flamboyant assistant. Television personality, dancer and choreographer Spence is best known as a judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice though he has extensive stage credits.

As previously announced, award-winning comedian Jason Manford is to play sidekick Leo Bloom. The lead role of New York producer Max Bialystock has not yet been cast.

The Producers has a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks. The show, based on the Academy Award winning film of the same name won 12 Tony Awards on Broadway and three Olivier Awards in the West End.

The tour starts in March.
