The National Theatre Annual Report for 2002-2003

Financial Report

  • The National achieved a surplus of £58,000 on its operations for the year ended 30 March 2003 which took the accumulated operating surplus to £157,000.

  • The cost of performances and activities represents over 60% of the National’s total expenditure.
  • The National received an additional £1m in its revenue grant for the financial year ended 30 March 2003 which took the grant to £13.8m and resulted in the Arts Council main grant accounting for 35% of total income compared to 34% in the previous year.
