The rise and fall of an actor’s marriage, told through the various roles she’s played, returns to The Dukes in Lancaster next week. I Was A Wife is the true story of award-winning actress Polly Lister and premièred at The Dukes in early 2016.

Showzam!, Blackpool’s festival of circus, magic and live performance, runs from Saturday to Tuesday.

Violet Sackville-Rhode, a one-woman-whirlwind from Derbyshire, comes to Keswick Theatre by the Lake in comedy show Get a Life! Get a Life Coach! devised and performed by West End actor Philip Cox.

Thirty years of pioneering theatre-making in the city are marked at Preston Guild Hall with the staging of Tempest Tossed. Uneasy Theatre has always drawn personnel from students, staff and alumni of Cardinal Newman college, many of whom moved on to work in performance and other creative capacities.
