A physically daring contemporary dance show comes to Lancaster University’s Nuffield Theatre on Tuesday. The Northern School of Contemporary Dance’s postgraduate dance company Verve presents four new dance works.

A new play about a woman's journey across the world to fulfil her dream of becoming a mother will be performed at The Dukes in Lancaster next week. Made In India is set in a surrogacy clinic in Gujurat—motherhood's last chance saloon for Londoner, Eva.

The Dukes in Lancaster is the first stop this week on a tour by Celia Johnson's daughter, telling of her actress mother's wartime experiences, some of which cover her time filming Brief Encounter at Carnforth Station.
