EDDIE NESTOR AND ROBBIE GEE are…
The Oddest Couple
by Geoff Aymer

Thursday 5 - Saturday 28 February 8pm

Following an all-too-brief sell-out run of The Nutty Professionals earlier this year, Britain's best comedy duo, Eddie Nestor and Robbie Gee, return to Theatre Royal Stratford East with an updated and even more hilarious version: The Oddest Couple.

The Oddest Couple tells the tale of Thelma and Iggy Norant, a suburban couple in a stale marriage. Thelma seeks life, love and laughter, while Iggy just wants his feet washed… Along the way they meet favourite characters from Eddie and Robbie's previous work on stage and TV including: the over-the-top Ragga Girls, the under-the-counter Butu Boys, and the seriously-past-it Cornelius and Alphonse. With all the characters, male and female, young and old, played by Eddie and Robbie, The Oddest Couple is a revolving door of fast-paced comedy.

Eddie Nestor is a recognisable face from TV (for three years he played Nurse Cyril James in Casualty) but it's probably his deliberately provocative tones on the daily BBC LDN Drivetime show which are most familiar to the public…

Robbie Gee is also well-known from film and TV including Guy Ritchie's Snatch, Desmond's (he played Lee, the Peckham Prince), Underworld in which he played a vampire alongside Kate Beckinsale and, most recently, as Roly Crouch in BBC1's The Crouches.

Together Eddie and Robbie have appeared on TV in The Real McCoy, Blouse & Skirt, Upfront and Armed and Dangerous and have been commissioned by Celador to develop a TV show based on The Oddest Couple.

The Oddest Couple will be directed by Karena Johnson (Jerwood Young Directors Award-winner 2003) and designed by Libby Watson (Urban Afro Saxons and Funny Black Women on the Edge among many other shows at Stratford East).

Tickets are available now. Call the Box Office on 020 8534 0310.
