"Offies" Winners Announced
The winners of the 2011 "Offies", the Off West End Theatre
Awards organised by Offwestend.com, have been announced at a ceremony
at Wilton's Music Hall hosted by Simon Callow:
- Panel Award: Chickenshed
- Best Female Performance: Michelle Terry in Tribes,
Royal Court
- Best Male Performance: Danny Webb in Blasted,
Lyric Hammersmith
- Best Production: Assassins,
Union Theatre
- Best New Musical: Porn
The Musical, Theatre503
- Best Choreographer: Alistair David for Bells are Ringing,
Union Theatre
- Best Entertainment: The
Animals and Children Took to the Streets, BAC
- Best Producer: Lilli Geissendorfer
- Best Director: Thom Southerland for Me and Juliet,
Finborough Theatre
- Best New Play: Tribes
by Nina Raine, The Royal Court
- Most Promising New Playwright: Arinze Kene for Estate
Walls, Oval House
- Best Artistic Director/Programmer: Neil McPherson, Finborough
Theatre
- Best Lighting Design: Howard Hudson for Me and Juliet,
Finborough Theatre and Tomorrow Morning, Landor Theatre
- Best Sound Design: Steve Miller for Assassins,
Union Theatre
- Best Set Design: Ultz for The
Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Young Vic
- Best Costume/Make-up Design: Emily Stuart for Anyone
Can Whistle, Jermyn Street Theatre
- Best Marketing Campaign: Ghost
Stories, The Lyric Hammersmith
The final choice was made by a panel of critics - Mark Shenton, Matt
Wolf, Ian Shuttleworth, Roger Foss, Dominic Cavendish, Daisy Bowie-Sell
and Paul Vale - which chose the shortlist and winners from submissions
from a team of assessors.
There were also numerous awards voted for the the public:

- People's Favourite Musical: Britains
Got Bhangra at Theatre Royal Stratford East
- People's Favourite Entertainment: A Funny Thing Happened
on the Way to The Forum at Queens Theatre Hornchurch
- People's Favourite Male Performance: Alan Richardson in Pirates
of Penzance at Wiltons Music Hall
- People's Favourite Female Performance: Jessie Cave in Breed
at Theatre 503
- Best Theatre Bar:

The Kings Head in North London
The Young Vic in South East London
Theatre Royal Stratford East in East London
The Lyric Hammersmith in North West London
The Finborough in South West London
- Best Foodie Experience:
The Menier Chocolate Factory in Central London
