Olivier Winners

The winners of this year's Olivier Awards were announced this evening at the London Hilton Hotel. No one production swept the board, or even came close to it, but the National Theatre gained the most, with three for The History Boys and two for His Dark Materials. The Donmar and the RSC both managed two.

Of the musicals, The Producers unsurprisingly won three awards and Mary Poppins two. What was slightly surprising was the Donmar, not noted for award-winning musicals, taking the Outstanding Musical Production award for Grand Hotel. Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest, The Woman in White, garnered one, for Best Sound Design.
