"Lost" Olivier Tape Discovered A live recording of Sir Laurence Olivier in The Entertainer at London's Palace Theatre in 1957 has been discovered in the EMI archives. It was originally intended to be released as an LP but the quality of the tape was thought not to be good enough. Now it has been digitally remastered and will be released on CD and as a digital download on 2nd October. Also on the tape is Joan Plowright, Olivier's third wife, who played his daughter in the production. Richard Abram, UK reissues producer at EMI Classics, told The Times, "He comes straight out of the loudspeaker at you. You get a real sense of Olivier live and what a great theatre actor he was." Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
