The Bread & Roses Theatre in Clapham South London - One Billion Rising Festival

The Bread & Roses Theatre in Clapham South London is joining the biggest mass action yet to end violence against women. its One Billion Rising Festival takes place from 7 to 14 February in the run-up to the international OBR and V-Day on 14 February.

Over eight days, the venue will see performances, workshops, talks and an exhibition take place with this common theme. According to UN statistics, 1 in 3 women will be beaten or raped during her lifetime; the festival is named in honour of these one billion plus women.

Participants in the Festival include Jo King, founder of the London Academy of Burlesque, playwright and poet Claire Booker, Miss Glory Pearl The Naked Stand Up, comedian Alice Frick, Sonia Sanchez Lopez, photographer and women and gender analyst, and Pavan Amara, founder of My Body Back Clinic.
