One Dance UK, in partnership with Dance Consortium, is looking for twenty aspiring dance leaders for its 2017/18 cohort of Dance Ambassadors, open to young people aged 15 to 25 who live in the UK.

Developed over the last nine years, the programme provides training and guidance for young people considering a career in dance with opportunities to assist with dance projects and events such as the U.Dance national youth dance festival. They will also have the chance to represent the voice of young people at many key events.

This year, One Dance UK has teamed up with Dance Consortium, giving the opportunity to learn about what it takes to be chief executive of a large-scale dance venue or to manage a tour.

Claire Somerville, Head of Children and Young People’s Dance at One Dance UK said, “this new partnership with Dance Consortium is a great leap forwards for the Dance Ambassador programme. I’m delighted that the Ambassadors will now benefit from the rich insights of those that lead major dance presenting venues. I’m looking forward to working with Dance Consortium as they help us support the dance leaders of the future.”

Ros Robins, Executive Director of Dance Consortium, added, “linking to the successful Dance Ambassador programme will ensure that Future Leaders gain a real insight into all aspects of the dance sector at the same time as developing their leadership aspirations.”
