Theatre by the Lake in Keswick opens its doors to one and all next Saturday as part of Heritage Open Days 2017.
A completely free event with something for all ages, the public are invited to take a peek behind the scenes of the busy theatre at the height of its home-produced rep season—to find out what really goes into creating productions and what’s involved in running a theatre.
The day will include a backstage tour and the chance to watch scene-shifting for those interested in technical wizardry; chats with actors; children's storytelling and craft sessions themed around the Christmas production, The Secret Garden; workshops giving tasters of their participatory Young and Elders companies; pop-up performances; and the chance to see how props are made.
