Our House on Tour

The first UK tour of the Olivier award-winning Our House will open at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre for three weeks on Tuesday 3rd June, following previews from 29th May. The production will run there until 21st June.

Featuring the most famous songs of 80's pop band Madness such as "My Girl", "Baggy Trousers", "House of Fun" and "It Must Be Love", Our House tells the story of sixteen year-old Joe, in love for the first time, and the fateful day when something happens to tear his world in two.

Steve Brookstein, who was the winner of the first ever series of ITV's X-Factor in 2004, will make his stage debut playing Dad and Gwyneth Strong will play Kath Casey. Best known as Cassandra in Only Fools and Horses, she has appeared in numerous other television series. Her stage work includes Sugar and Spice at the Royal Court Theatre, When You Cure Me at the Bush theatre and Three Sisters, directed by Max Stafford-Clark for Out of Joint.

  • The Lowry Salford (15 - 20 September)
  • Lyceum Sheffield (22 - 27 September)
  • Sunderland Empire (29 September - 4 October)
  • The Mayflower Southampton (20 - 25 October)

Our House is being staged by the entire original West End creative team. The show, which has music and lyrics by Madness, is written by Tim Firth (Calendar Girls, Neville's Island). The production is directed by Matthew Warchus, designed by Rob Howell and choreographed by Peter Darling ("Billy Elliot"). It is produced by Andrew Welch, Christopher Malcolm, Brian Eastman and Richmond Theatre Productions.
