Oxford's Offbeat festival is back

The second Offbeat festival brings some 70 shows to Oxford over the course of 10 days, starting 23 June.

Theatre events include work from local creatives and from further a field who bring shows for all ages starting at zero.

Over half of the performances will be UK premières including from Mark Thomas, Viv Groskop and Richard Marsh.

The theatre programme includes

  • Room, a one-on-one experience for a blindfolded audience member
  • Wrecked which takes place inside a crashed car
  • What if the plane falls out the sky? from Idiot Child’s
  • James Rowland’s A Hundred Different Words for Love
  • fierce political theatre from #TORYCORE
  • Boris – The Musical! from Blowfish Theatre

Comedy events include Mark Thomas’s new show A Show That Gambles on the Future, Tiernan Douieb’s Miserably Happy and Chris Coltrane’s Make Love and Smash Fascism.

Offbeat festival is presented by a partnership between Oxford Playhouse and Arts at the Old Fire Station.

Offbeat runs from 23 June to 2 July with events taking place at both venues.
