Some theatres do ‘ave ‘em: Joe Pasquale as Smee
Most evil man in Neverland: John Challis as Captain Hook

Joe Pasquale and John Challis will lead the cast of Peter Pan, the 2018 panto at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham.

Pasquale, currently playing Frank Spencer in the touring production of the BBC sitcom Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em, will play Smee. Challis, best known as Boycie in the TV series Only Fools and Horses, is a regular on the ITV comedy Benidorm and regularly tours his one-man theatre show Only Fools and Boycie. He will play Captain Hook.

Jonathan Saville, director of sales, marketing and development at the Theatre Royal, said, “panto fans with long memories will be delighted to hear that both Joe Pasquale and John Challis are returning as they’ve both performed in past pantos here.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce our leading cast. More than 13,000 customers are already booked in to see this year’s panto and with Peter Pan being one of our most popular pantos we look forward to another sell-out Christmas season. Peter Pan will definitely be in safe hands with these two super-talented and very funny men.”

Peter Pan is adapted from the original by J M Barrie. It will run at the Theatre Royal from Saturday 8 December until Sunday 13 January 2019.
