Personals the Musical is to tour the UK for the first time from March 2006. Opening at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool, the production receives its national press night on Tuesday 7th March. Gary Wilmot stars as Sam, one of six lonely hearts in the comedy musical who are looking for the perfect match through personal columns, speed dating and online profiling, and who, along the way, experience the perils and pleasures of blind dating, going it alone and yearning for that someone special. It is written by the creators of Friends (Book and Lyrics by David Crane, Seth Friedman and Marta Kauffman) and with music by some of Broadway's most successful composers - Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked), Alan Menken (Little Shop Of Horrors, Beauty & The Beast) alongside William Dreskin, Joel Phillip Friedman, Seth Friedman and Michael Skloff. UK Book & Lyrics are by Kelly Marcel and UK Music & Additional Lyrics by Grant Olding. In the cast with Gary Wilmot are Paul Baker, Gerrard Bentall, Cassidy Janson and Katy Secombe, with further casting to be announced Tour Dates
