Phaedra Previews Begin with New Hippolytus Previews for the Donmar Warehouse production of Racine's Phaedra, in a version by Frank McGuinness, begin tonight with Paul Nicholls (Hippolytus), who had to withdraw last week with a severe throat infection, being replaced by Ben Meyjes. Directed by Tom Cairns (who is also the designer), the cast includes Clare Higgins, Linda Bassett, Sean Campion, Michael Feast, Lucy-Anne Holmes, Marcella Plunkett, and Janet Whiteside. The opening night is 21st April. Meyjes' recent work includes Laertes in the RSC's 2001 Hamlet, Claudio in Complicité's Measure for Measure at the National, Hibbert in Journey's End at the Comedy and Julian Mitchell's Another Country at the Arts. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
