Phantom at the Royal Albert Hall The 25th Anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera will be celebrated at the Royal Albert Hall with a special fully staged production at the Royal Albert Hall on 1st and 2nd October. Ramin Karimloo, who has played the Phantom in the production at Her Majesty's and in Love Never Dies, will take lead, while Sierra Boggess plays Christine, which she played in LND and alsi in the original Las Vegas production of Phantom. Also in the cast will be Barry James, Gareth Snook, Liz Robertson as Madame Giry who also appeared in Love Never Dies and Wynne Evans, along with some "special guests". It will be directed by Laurence Connor with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne. "The success of the show has become the stuff of theatrical legend," said producer Cameron Mackintosh, "so Andrew and I felt we needed to create a really special performance to celebrate the 25th anniversary." The musical opened on 9th October 1986 (previewing from 27th September) at Her Majestys Theatre with Michael Crawford in the lead and Sarah Brightman as Christine. It is the second longest running musical in West End history (after Les Misérables) and the longest running on Broadway. Tickets (ring 0845 401 5045) go on sale on 4th July.
