The Praying Mantas at Young Fest

Tmesis Theatre's Liverpool-based physical theatre festival, Physical Fest, returns for 2017 with Young Fest: a weekend of free activities at Bluecoat for young people and families.

Young Fest, on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April, will offer interactive workshops and performances ranging from a superhero dance party to a monster disco, plus a puppet-making workshop.

Impropriety will create instant theatre with improvisation games and exercises, and Marcelo and Jordan of Polichinelo Circus will lead an acrobatics workshop for all abilities. Third-year Arden students create their first outdoor theatre piece in The Rubbish Show, produced by Graham Hicks from the Eggpeople.

Artemis Productions will bring their nature-inspired Bob and Gerry, an "oversized flora and fauna duo", and the Praying Mantas to Bluecoat's gardens.

Young Fest is free but booking is strongly recommended via the Bluecoat.

Physical Fest runs from Friday 26 May to Saturday 3 June 2017.
