“Big, bold production”: Peter Pan

Derby Theatre is looking for children aged from 9 to 16 to be in its 2017 festive production Peter Pan.

The theatre is looking for three teams of six young actors to play a range of roles including pirates and mermaids. Each team will perform on different dates during the run.

Derby Theatre’s artistic director Sarah Brigham who is directing Peter Pan said, “this is a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain audition experience and to perform alongside a professional company of actors.

Peter Pan is going to be a big, bold and magical production for the whole family and I’m looking forward immensely to a young company of local actors being an integral part of our Christmas show once again this year. So, if you’re enthusiastic, a great team player and eager to perform and showcase your talent, we look forward to seeing you at the auditions.”

Group auditions will be held on Sunday 30 July. Young people will take part in a range of drama exercises and games as well as being asked to sing in a group. Previous experience is not essential. Parents or guardians should call the box office on 01332 593939 to book a place.

Mike Kenny’s adaptation of J M Barrie’s Peter Pan will run at Derby Theatre from Friday 2 December until Saturday 6 January 2018.
