Playgrounding
Over the last year, the Playgrounding project has seen Polka Children's
Theatre work with five writers, helping them to create theatrical and
powerfully dramatic plays that will stimulate an audience's imagination.
They have teamed up with some of Britain's leading theatre directors
to presentu rehearsed readings of each of the five plays.
FRIDAY 30 JANUARY
2.30pm Cameron's Street by Carla Lomax, directed by Arlette
Kim George
5.00pm Nesto by Philippe Cherbonnier, directed by Richard
Shannon (PolkaTheatre)
SATURDAY 31 JANUARY
11.00am Song of the Frogs by Parminder K Madhar, directed
by Jonathan Lloyd (Soho Theatre)
1.30pm Discussion: New Writing for Children's Theatre
with Tony Graham (Unicorn), Chris Elwell (Half Moon), Rosamund Hutt
(Theatre Centre), Annie Wood (Polka Theatre), chaired by Richard Shannon
(Polka Theatre)
2.30pm The Shoe by Roger Lang, directed by John Wright (Told
by an Idiot)
4.30pm The Fast Train to Gangotri by Emily Nightingale, directed
by Paulette Randall (Talawa Theatre)
