Powys Decision Overturned
The decision of Powys County Council's Children,
Families and Lifelong Learning Committee to cut all funding to Theatr
Powys and Powys Dance has been overturned by Policy and Scrutiny Committee.
A statement from Theatr Powys said:
Theatr Powys and Powys Dance are very pleased to announce that the
Policy and Scrutiny Committee of CFLL met this afternoon (Fri 22nd)
and have decided to overturn the decision to cut all funding to the
two companies. The original recommendation to cease funding the companies
created quite a furore in these here parts. Local, Powys-wide, Wales-wide
and international statements of support have clearly hit the mark.
Many thanks to everyone for all their support – it has been
much appreciated.
