Manchester's Opera House's new partnership with Qdos, after working with First Family Entertainment for the last few pantomime seasons, will bring John Barrowman and The Krankies to Manchester this Christmas in Dick Whittington.

This will be Barrowman and The Krankies' seventh panto season together but their first in Manchester. Barrowman, already a West End and Broadway musical theatre star before he became a household name as Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and Torchwood for the BBC, will take the title role and The Krankies will play Councillor and Jimmy Krankie.

Sarah Bleasdale, General Manager of the Palace Theatre and Opera House, said, “it is with great pleasure that we welcome back to Manchester, the world’s biggest panto producer Qdos Entertainment after 10 years and what a show they are returning with, bringing some of the biggest names in showbusiness and comedy, John Barrowman and The Krankies, in one of the most traditional of panto titles.

"We are all really excited and I know that Manchester audiences are in for an absolute treat. It's sure to be an unforgettable show for all the family this festive period.”
