Edfringe Venue Operator Closing Remarkable Arts, which for two years has run two Edinburgh Fringe venues, the Hill Street Theatre (2010 and 2011) and St George's West (2011), is being wound up. A statement on the company's website says, "After two Remarkable years on the Edinburgh Fringe, Remarkable Arts is closing its doors. We want to thank all of our staff, performing companies and members of the audience for coming together to make this an unforgettable experience." According to reports the company, which was run by Tim Hawkins, former Fringe Society general manager (August 2008 until November 2009), co-founder of Aurora Nova and general manager of Komedia, Brighton, owes around £85,000 in unpaid box office receipts to companies who performed at the venues and has assets of just £10,000. Among the shows at the two venues this year were Adolf (Pip Utton), Alma Mater (Fish and Game), the highly controversial Audience (Ontroerend Goed), Danny and the Deep Blue Sea (8(Ocho)- Stage Best Actress Award), Donna Disco (Chicken Pox Fox), Leo (Circle of Eleven - Fringe First), Llwyth [Tribe] (Sherman Cymru and Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru), David Leddy's Untitled Love Story (Fire Exit Ltd), The Oh Fuck Moment (Hannah Jane Walker and Chris Thorpe - Fringe First) and eight shows from the Made in Scotland showcase.
