Richard Twyman to become ETT artistic director

Richard Twyman has been appointed artistic director at English Touring Theatre.

He is currently associate director (international) at London's Royal Court Theatre, a post he has held since 2013.

His Royal Court directorial credits include You For Me For You, Fireworks and the forthcoming Torn by Nathaniel Martello-White and Harrogate by Al Smith.

Twyman's other credits include Henry IV Part II for the RSC, Ditch for Theatre Royal Bath and UK tour and Sixty-Six Books for Bush Theatre and, as a dance dramaturg, Bayadère-The Ninth Life for Shobana Jeyasingh Dance, Please be Seated and Nest for New Movement Collective and Who Killed Bambi for Renaud Wiser Dance Company.

Twyman will take up the role in November 2016. Current artistic director Rachel Tackley leaves English Touring Theatre to join Chichester Festival Theatre.
