Richard Harris Dies

Actior Richard Harris has died, aged 72. he died at University College Hospital where he was receiving treatment for Hodgkin's Disease, a form of cancer. He died peacefully at 7 pm on Friday 25th October.

He fell ill just after completing the filming of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets early this summer.

Harris was known both for the classic films in which he appeared (including The Guns of Navarone and A Man Called Horse) and for his hard-drinking, wild life-style. He went bankrupt twice and gave up drinking in the early 80s when he was told he had only eighteen months to live if he continued. He then bought the stage rights to the musical Camelot (described by Noel Coward as "Parsifal, but without the jokes") and toured it internationally for five years, becoming a multi-millionaire in the process.
