Dateline: 19th March, 2004 Richard Marner Actor Richard Marner, best known for playing Colonel von Strohm in the TV series 'Allo 'Allo, has died at the age of 82. Born in St Petersberg as Alexander Molchanoff-Sacha, he came to England as a small boy and took up acting after being invalided out of the RAF. He began his theatre career by touring before appearing in the West End in Rainbow Square by Robert Stolz at the Stoll. He appeared in many films, including The African Queen, Reach for the Sky, Oh Rosalinda, Miracle in Soho, You Only Live Twice, Ice Cold in Alex and The Password is Courage.
