Bedroom FarceTheatre by the Lake's Summer Season up in Keswick gets properly under way this week.

Whilst Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn and A Doll's House, Ibsen's classic in a new version by Bryony Lavery, open on Tuesday, attention has already turned to the next two shows to open.

Dry Rot by John Chapman (Main House, Fri 1 June) and Laura Wade's Colder Than Here (Studio, Fri 8 June) are two plays that could not be more different. Dry Rot, a true farce by 1950s playwright John Chapman, features plenty of comedy capers and horsing around, while over in the Studio Laura Wade's Colder Than Here is a heartbreaking yet uplifting tale.

Demands on the 14-strong cast are high as Theatre by the Lake prepares to open four plays within three weeks.
