Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music has announced its summer 2018 season.

Between April and July, the Manchester conservatoire and venue hosts everything from classical, big band and vocal to a collaboration with Manchester Jazz Festival.

Embarking on the final leg of the RNCM’s year-long French Connections journey, the season continues to explore the music and musicians of France.

Forthcoming highlights include Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé at The Bridgewater Hall with conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier, the baritone Roderick Williams singing a Franco-British programme, the French organist-composer-improviser Thierry Escaich providing the soundtrack to the 1927 American silent film Sunrise and two choral works: Fauré’s Requiem and the Paris-based Italian composer Rossini’s dramatic Petite messe solennelle.

RNCM Young Company, a musical theatre group for young people aged 13 to 18, also returns to the stage alongside performers from The Circus House for a new work of music, dance and acrobatics.
