Rod Hall, in whose memory the Award was named

Rod Hall Award 2008

The second Rod Hall Memorial Award for young playwrights between the ages of 18 and 30 is inviting applicants.

This biennial award is given in memory of Rod Hall, visionary literary agent and founder of the Rod Hall Agency. It is intended to launch a writing career – the winner will receive a £5,000 commission to write a play for Paines Plough, and representation from the Rod Hall Agency. Applicants must never have had play a produced professionally and be UK residents. Plays submitted must be over sixty minutes in length.

All entries must be submitted unbound with a covering letter detailing experience to:

The deadline for entries is 1st June, 2008. Entries cannot be returned so please do not send master copies. Email entries cannot be accepted.

The winner of the first (2006) Award was Morna Pearson, who went on to win the 2007 Meyer Whitworth Award.
