The Dell: the RSC's open-air performance space available during the summer

The Royal Shakespeare Company is offering amateur and semi-professional theatre groups, schools and colleges the opportunity to put on a play by Shakespeare or his contemporaries in Stratford.

Organisations can submit an application to perform at The Dell, the RSC’s open-air performance space, on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer.

In the 2014 summer season at The Dell more than 9,000 people watched 39 performances by 19 theatre companies, schools, universities and community groups.

The Dell co-ordinator Laura Keating said, “last year The Dell enjoyed another successful season and included companies such as the Royal Navy Theatre Association performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream with a cast of more than 30 and a group from New Hampshire who raised funds to make the journey from America to Stratford to perform Hamlet.”

Two performance slots at The Dell are available on Saturdays and Sundays from 6 June to 30 August. Times of performances may vary.

Application forms can be downloaded from the RSC web site. Closing date for completed applications in Monday 23 March.
