S4K in the West End

Shakespeare4Kidz, the company which specialises in bringing Shakespeare to children of primary school age, is to have a season at the New Players Theatre, Charing Cross, over the Easter period.

S4K Macbeth (so-called so that it won't be confused with a straight production of the play) runs from Tuesday 22nd March to Saturday 5th April at 2.30pm and 6.30pm (not Good Friday, Easter Sunday or Easter Monday) and S4K The Tempest from Tuesday 5th to Saturday 9th April at 2.30pm and 6.30pm. Tickets are £12.50 (£19.50 for adults) and are available from the box office on 0870 033 2626. This will be the first time that the company has played played an extended run outside of school term time since it performed at the Edinburgh fringe in the late '90s.

These musical versions, by Julian Chenery and Matt Gimblett, are designed to be performed by primary children as a school play but they also tour them. In 2003-4 over 115,000 children saw their productions. In addition S4K provides workshops in schools for all four key stages.
