Creator of television drama Broadchurch, Chris Chibnall's new comedy play Worst Wedding Ever is to receive its première at Salisbury Playhouse next year, directed by the venue's artistic director, Gareth Machin.
Later in the season, British musical comedy Betty Blue Eyes warms the cockles in a new co-production with Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, Mercury Theatre Colchester and West Yorkshire Playhouse, whilst the more chilling Patrick Hamilton thriller Gaslight runs in February.
Marking the 100th anniversary of Britain’s entry into the First World War, the Youth Theatre presents Joan Littlewood’s Oh What a Lovely War, and the venue also plays host to a number of visiting companies and shows for children including Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play and The Snow Queen.
Running up to the new season, Dick Whittington and his Cat plays the main house from 4 December to January.
