Side by Side by Sondheim Gala at the Novello It is now thirty years since Side by Side by Sondheim first burst on to the stage at London 's Mermaid Theatre bringing the music of Stephen Sondheim to a much wider, appreciative audience. To mark this theatrical landmark Richard Douglas Productions is presenting a special Charity Gala production of Side By Side By Sondheim which will re-unite the original stars of the show, Julia McKenzie, Millicent Martin, David Kernan and Ned Sherrin plus a host of guest stars, for one night only at The Novello Theatre, London on Sunday 21st May 2006. Tickets, which range in price from £150 to £25, are available from the box office on 0870 950 0939. There is a £1.50 booking fee levied on each ticket. £150 tickets provide the opportunity of joining the stars at a special after-show party at The Waldorf Hilton next to the theatre. Please be aware when purchasing £150 tickets that black tie must be worn for this after-show event. The show will be directed by David Kernan and staged by Bill Deamer, with musical direction by Gareth Valentine. All profits from the show will go to the Shooting Star Children's Hospice which provides respite and end of life care to terminally ill children, young people and their families. With no government support, it costs £2.5 million a year to run the hospice, so your support would be very much appreciated.
