The Boy from the Boro, the story of Arthur Horobin

Birmingham’s Blue Orange Theatre is offering schools the opportunity to delve into the history of World War I through two educational plays.

The Boy from the Boro by Three in One Productions explores the story of soldier Arthur Horobin, a farm worker and shopkeeper thrust into the mud and blood of trench warfare. The one-man performance uses multimedia, storytelling and poetry. Schools can book performances from Monday until Friday, 3 to 7 November, at 10:30AM or 1PM.

Blue Orange is also hosting 1914 Local News by Tell Tale Theatre. The production looks beyond tales of glory and tragedy to uncover the day-to-day lives of those who lived through it. Members of the cast use physical theatre, verbatim accounts and storytelling to perform a different show every day.

Based on news reports, letters, journals, photographs and reminiscences of the date 100 years ago, 1914 Local News can be booked on Friday 28 November at 10:30AM or 1PM.
