Sadler's Wells/New York Link-Up

Sadler’s Wells and New York City Center have entered a partnership that will lead to the exchange of innovative dance works and new commissions. The exchange offers both parties the opportunity to present even more work from choreographers and companies at the forefront of dance. The first fruits of the scheme see the multi award-winning PUSH make its New York debut in October, and the Fall For Dance Festival receiving a UK premiere in spring 2007.

Alistair Spalding, Artistic Director and CEO of Sadler’s Wells, said,“Sadler’s Wells has a long history of taking its work to New York ever since the Sadler’s Wells Ballet first visited with Margot Fonteyn in 1949. Now that Sadler’s Wells is a producing house once again, it is fantastic to be able to bring the kind of work we are doing to City Center as well as bringing exciting projects from New York City Center to the home of dance in London – Sadler’s Wells.”

Arlene Shuler, President and CEO of New York City Center, added, “We are thrilled to introduce PUSH to New York audiences after its sell-out run at Sadler’s Wells and to bring the artistry of Sylvie Guillem to City Centre, an historic home for dance in New York City.”
