RUG Sells See Tickets The Really Useful Group has sold of its ticketing subsidiary, See Tickets, to Stage Ticketing International, part of Stage Entertainment which is based in Amsterdam. Between them See Tickets and Stage Ticketing International sell more than 40m tickets a year. Stage Entertainment runs 24 theatres in Europe (eleven in Germany alone) and the US, including the Shaftesbury in the West End. It is also a major producer of musicals in Europe, with 23 currently playing, including Dirty Dancing in the Netherlands and German, Mamma Mia! in Germany, Spain and Russia, and The Lion King in Germany and France. In the UK it produces Hairspray and the forthcoming tour of Disney's High School Musical. The UK current tour of Strictly Come Dancing is also one of its productions. "See Tickets," a company statement says, "holds a long-term agreement for the provision of ticketing services for the RUG theatres in London" and its chief executive Henk Kivits believes that "these combined activities will benefit our customers and clients and increase our share of the business in the UK and Continental Europe."
