Bottom and Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream

Coinciding with Shakespeare Week, two young Liverpool actors, Faye Griffiths and James Ledsham, will play Romeo and Juliet in an alternating repertoire of Shakespeare’s classic plays at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre.

Several cast members are set to reprise their roles and fresh faces join the team, as Daniel Taylor’s immersive production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream returns, alongside a new adaptation of Romeo & Juliet set in 1880s strife-torn Protestant and Catholic Liverpool.

The ten-day run has settings chosen to resonate with modern audiences and appeal in particular to newcomers to Shakespeare’s work.

It runs from April 11 to 21.
