To celebrate Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, Shakespeare’s Deadly Sins takes audiences on a journey through gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, pride, lust and envy when it tours the region in October.
Vocal harmonies and stage combat are woven through the action as moments from less performed plays and sonnets encounter scenes from classic works Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth.
Veteran actor and director Wyllie Longmore is thrilled to be involved in a new take on the work of Shakespeare and said: “within Shakespeare’s works, you can find each of the deadly sins in their ultimate form”.
The production reunites playwright Conor McKee with Longmore following their successful collaboration on Macbeth in 2012 and 2013.
The movement and stage combat is choreographed by Kenan Ali and the music is composed by Carol Donaldson.
