Avengers assembling: can they stop history being rewritten?

Shakespeare's greatest heroes decide they should do something to stop the oncoming apocalypse in Shakespeare's Avengers Assembleth: Age of Oberon which stops off at Buxton Fringe as part of a national tour.

Drake's Drummers Theatre Company is behind the comedy which is written and directed by Pelham Grosvenor-Stevenson, Callum Moffat and Adam Toon.

In a world where all Shakespeare's characters exist simultaneously, Oberon of A Midsummer Night’s Dream has gone mad. The fairy king has kidnapped William Shakespeare and his mischievous sidekick Puck has brought him the infinity quill which has the power to rewrite history.

Anxious of the scenario that is unfolding, Hamlet, Macbeth, Ophelia and Brutus head to Midsummer’s Forest to confront Oberon and the fairies. Shakespeare's avengers have assembled.

Shakespeare's Avengers Assembleth: Age of Oberon takes to the stage at Underground Venues, The Square, Buxton on Wednesday 13, Friday 15 and Sunday 17 July at 7PM and Thursday 14 and Saturday 16 July at 8PM.
